Joseph Fredericksdorf was selected to serve as Deputy Director of Liberty Mid Atlantic HIDTA in October 2024. The LMA HIDTA serves twelve HIDTA designated counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware with a total of 31 distinct law enforcement initiatives.
Joseph Fredericksdorf began his career in the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) in 1990, serving in various patrol and investigative functions. Upon being promoted to Sergeant, Joseph was assigned as a Narcotics Enforcement Team Supervisor for twelve years, and then as a Detective Sergeant in Investigations. As Lieutenant in the Kensington area (25th District), he supervised a patrol group and two narcotics teams. As Captain in the 35th District, he supervised a large contingent of patrol, tactical and narcotics officers in the Olney Area of Philadelphia. As an Inspector, he was assigned to the Internal Affairs Bureau, followed by six years as Inspector of the Intensified Drug Interdiction Division comprised of numerous LMA HIDTA initiatives that co-located PPD resources with the FBI, HSI, ATF, DEA, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. After completing 33 years with the PPD, Joseph transitioned into a new role in early 2024 and to serve as Deputy Police Chief with the Septa Transit Police Department, implementing new patrol strategies and effective enforcement tools.
Joseph earned his Bachelor of Administration from Temple University, and completed the FBI National Academy, Class #256, in 2014, and the Drug Unit Commanders Academy, DUCA #81, in 2021.
